Day out in Dublin

Posted on | July 9, 2009 | No Comments

Last Saturday myself, Oscar and Oisín headed to Dublin on the train for a day out. By the time we’d arrived, taken the LUAS and found ourselves outside the Jervis Centre we were a smidge hungry.

The boys decided that they’d like something Italian for their lunch so we headed into Dunne and Crescenzi which is located in Arnotts on the first floor.

Oisín ordered the lasagne. He declared it was almost as good as Nana’s, which is indeed high praise as my version has never come close. ;-)

Oscar chose a margherita pizza slice. He was concerned one wouldn’t fill him so ordered a second once he’d scoffed the first. He really enjoyed both.

As usual I was taken in by the goat’s cheese on the menu so couldn’t pass up the bruschetta with roasted peppers, goat’s cheese and pesto. The generous portion was delicious.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a good range of Italian wines on offer by the glass. On this occasion I opted for sparkling water and the boys had soft drinks.

Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing, tasty meal. The cost was reasonable, the food was good and the restaurant was very family friendly with helpful, pleasant, efficient staff. Will definitely keep it in mind next time we’re in Dublin city centre.
