It was really disappointing and I too, didn't really give a hoot what happened in the end. I agree the whole sister relationship doesn't ring true. Its a pity, I did enjoy her earlier books. I found it interesting why it was so disappointing because she does some things very well. Her dialog type of prose is smart and witty. She researches her material well and Montreal is well-described. So what i asked myself is the problem. I ended up not caring at all as to what happened to her childhood mates. I found the story too scattered. It was very repetitious. I find her relationship with her sister Harry infantile. At times, it was like Kathy Reichs was filling up space. Enough with the eye rolls. For my enjoyment I need to care more about the characters and it might be time to take some onus off Tempe. She is a bit too self absorbed.
