Review of Torres Gran Sangre de Toro Reserva 2002
September 12th, 2007
Yummy big intense Spanish wine with blackberry and spice aromas.

When it comes to red wine, I usually opt for a Rioja or Shiraz. Normally I’m not particularly enamoured with spicy tones preferring lighter reds. However, I am loving this wine. Its a deep red to purple colour, intense flavour but very smooth. Its a blend containing Granacha Tinta, Carinena and Syrah grapes which is then aged in oak. It has a blackberry/redcurrant flavour with spice overtones, but its not overpowering. I bought it at approximately €13 from Tesco.
