Review of Cappuccino’s Restaurant

August 9th, 2007

Cappuccino’s Restaurant,
20 North Main Street,
Wexford,
Co. Wexford,
Ireland

Busy coffee shop/restaurant that is great for lunch or just a coffee and snack.

As the weather had become dull and too cold for the beach yesterday afternoon, myself, Oscar and Fionn decided on a trip into Wexford town. Fionn was in the buggy as he was wrecked from all the running about and all were hungry so we headed to Cappuccino’s for some lunch.

Its located in a great spot and is hard to miss and is spread over 3 storeys. Unfortunately there is no lift but luckily we were there mid afternoon so the lunch rush has subsided and we had no difficulty in getting 3 seats on the ground floor. The café has been renovated recently so there is seating for approximately 20 or so there. On previous occasions, we have folded up the buggy and just stowed it and carried baby/toddler upstairs. The juice/smoothie bar is a new addition.

The waiting staff were very helpful, quickly ushering us to available seats and giving out menus. She returned promptly when I was ready to order. The boys had cheese paninis, a hot chocolate and a apple and blackcurrent juice. The juice was freshly pressed locally produced. I opted for a bagel with smoked chicken, brie, cranberry relish and a large latte. All were accompanied with a small serving of coleslaw and salad. Mine also had a delicious roasted pepper and rice salad. The bagel was toasted perfectly and the fillings very tasty. The boys enjoyed their basic paninis and all was polished off without further ado.

Theres a good selection of bagels, wraps, rolls, wraps and salads. As well as scones, cakes, pastries. If you’re in the humour for something more substantial, there’s lasagne, fritata, burgers or triple deck sandwiches. The coffee was good. Total cost was approximately €27.

The only disadvantage is the layout. If you’re there when its busy it can be difficult to get kids seated upstairs, unload buggy etc. The bathrooms are also located on the third floor which isn’t exactly convenient if you’re seated on the ground floor.

But the food is good, the service efficient and pleasant. Lunch was tasty and we left happy. Worth a visit if you’re in Wexford.
