Review of The Reminder by Feist

The Reminder by Feist

This album has me smiling and tapping my feet.

Of late, I’ve been in a veritable muscial doldrums and to be honest, if I listen to another Killers song, much as I have liked them over the past few months, I’ll go mad.

Thankfully, I was recently recommended to give Feist’s “The Reminder” a listen. I knew nothing of this Canadian singer, but have been very pleasantly surprised by this album.  “So Sorry” is a quietish opening track, which doesn’t particularly do anything for me, but the following ” I feel it all” just makes me smile. Its a great boppy little pop tune, guitars, percussion, keyboard, vocal harmonies, I love it.

Other tracks that are initially grabbing me are “My moon my man”, less happy clappy pop, “Sea lion woman”, gospel with guitars, drums, “Past in present” and “one two three four”.

Unfortunately, the slower paced “Limit to your love”, “Brandy Alexander” and “Intuition” are not doing much for me yet. Maybe these are growers.

Definitely worth a listen, check it out on www.listentofeist.com
